I really enjoyed this book, I wish it was longer so I could keep reading all of the beautiful poetry. When Wesley Boone writes a poem for his high school English class, some of his classmates clamor to read their poems aloud too. I love her overall positive message that tells teens not to give up even though they face a lot of obstacles. The students’ poems, however, provide some lasting images e. However, I have to say I liked this one a bit better than Brimstone, partly because it wasn’t entirely poetry, which I find easier to follow.

Grimes creates a group of very different characters with identifiable voices. One example is Diondra Jordan she struggles to make her dad accept what she likes to do and the text shows you it perfectly to help you feel for Diondra.

It is a YA mix of accessible prose and ny verse that should be in every high school library if it isn’t already. Miller wants Parris to act this way to show the audience that he is daft and why later on in the play why he is not well liked.

Eight Week Quiz E. There was one problem for many kids they were scared of what other people would think of them most of the time because of their race or they thought they would lose their popularity. Believe me, I won’t fit. Customers who bought this item also bought Ward says to bring their poems in tomorrow. Will I read it again? This book was very good but it struggled in some parts. I can’t believe I’m just now nimki a review of this book!
